Borders books is set to re-open online. The troubled book chain closed its doors across the UK and Ireland at thend of 2009.

Investment House, The Capital Group has bought Borders online business and its database of about 1million customers.  The investors will re-open exclusively online using the Books Etc brand name only.

The move underlines the continuing pressure on the publishing business and the re-inforces the effectiveness of the Web as a medium for selling books.
